- Leah mae P. Sayre

So there is an addictive quality to social media, and that is a huge issue “Social media is like a drug, but what makes it particularly addictive is that it is adaptive. It adjusts based on your preferences and behaviors,” - berger, “which makes it both more useful and engaging and interesting, and more addictive.”

Also the social media can be possible influence the consumer's purchase decisions through the reviews, advertising and marketingtactics. Essentially, The social media are broadly impacts to our ability to communicate, form relationships, access and spread information, and to arrive at the best decision.

There is a countless positive effects in social media including the better communication, timely information, socializing online, learning, enhancing skills, making a career among others. But also the same has some negative effects which include identity theft, cyber bullying, and social isolation.

Since it's a relatively new technology, there's little research to establish the long-term consequences, good or bad, of social media use.

However, multiple studies have found a strong link between heavy social media and an increased risk for depression, anxiety, loneliness, self-harm, and even suicidal thoughts. “The technology with which we keep in touch may change, may evolve, but we will have social connections and platforms which enable them.
