SIMPLE WAYS TO ENHANCE SELF ESTEEM



Self-esteem is your opinion of yourself or your abilities. It can be high, low, or somewhere in between. During this pandemic, we tend to question our self-worth due to inevitable mental health problems. With this, we suffer and forget to find ways in releasing our stresses. Lack of self-confidence affects academic performance and also affect’s other areas of students' life. School can be a place where you can encounter fear, shame, and anxiety. But online classes are way different. It helps students to build self-esteem by providing high-quality knowledge and enabling them to discover and improve their personal interests. While everyone occasionally has doubts about themselves. We sometimes felt insecure and unmotivated because of low self-esteem. Here are some ways to improve personal traits. 1. Be “YOU” Try not to compare yourself to others because pressuring yourself to be someone else will lead to insecurity.

2. Being nice to oneself We are unique to each other. Be always positive in everything that you do. If negative vibes come in, just be polite to yourself and correct things in acceptable ways.

3. Nobody’s Perfect We are humans bound to make mistakes. Make these mistakes your motivation to improve yourself.

4. Focus on your goals Instead of giving time to unnecessary things, try to attend to more important or relevant activities in your life. This will effectively help you to reach your goals.

5. Celebrate achievements Whether small or big accomplishments, we should practice celebrating them. In that way, we will be able to build confidence and feel better about ourselves.


6. Exercise Negative pressure can exhaust us mentally and physically. Exercises such as deep breathing, and the like, will help us to calm down and gain back our self-confidence.

7. Surround yourself with the positive squad Sometimes negative people lead us to trigger negative thinking or ideas. Find people that can make you feel better about yourself.

8. Start saying “NO” We sometimes forget to decline others because we want to please all of them. And in the end, negative results give us a burden and may lead to depression. Saying “no” does not upset relationships.

9. Do not assume Some people won’t do the same thing that you did for them. So better accept things that people can only give. Do not accept things more than that.

10. Laugh It is perfectly okay to be imperfect. And laughing at your mistake is somehow a positive way of accepting things out of your control. Laughing at yourself means you feel pretty good at yourself. According to Roli Edema, motivating yourself to be the best version that you can be is easier said than done, however, personal development can provide a clear path to a happier and more fulfilled life. Remember that any movement in a positive direction is progress no matter how small or how long it takes, it’s better to follow a plan for improvement almost always starts with self-awareness and the ability to transform your habits. Students can still build self-confidence through online classes. They develop a sense of responsibility, self-discipline, and time management. Do not ever forget to value yourself.
