Vaccination is the key to bring back the prosperous economy.
March 9, 2020 - MONDAY. I woke up at 5 o’clock in the morning to prepare for school. I never thought that that was the beginning of huge changes in my life. I heard the news – According to World Health Organization (WHO) a total of 7 new cases tested positive for COVID-19 between 6 and 8 March after the first 3 confirmed cases in January-February 2020. I ignored the news because I didn’t expect this world to become like this hectic, complicated and depressive. I went to school like a normal day, like I heard nothing, I spent my days without being paranoid. As days goes by, March 23, 2020, our school announced the suspension of class due to corona virus outbreak. And that was the beginning of the nightmare of everyone.
From two to three positive cases it suddenly increased to thousands cases everyday in the Philippines. Isolation or social distancing was the only way to be safe. A lot of people lose their job. Poverty is one of the major effects of this Pandemic. Many establishment was closed and workers had no source of income for almost one year. Aside from poverty, mental health of everyone is also affected. They having a financial problem and they’re afraid of being infected that will cause them stress. Being isolated is really hard especially when you are suffering depression. In my point of view, POVERTY and DEPRESSION are the main effects of COVID-19. As a responsible and concern citizen, I would use my voice to advocate my fellow youth and everyone who are eligible to get vaccinated.
On the report of World Health Organization (WHO), there are some evidences that if someone is fully vaccinated he can prevent the virus, meaning, being vaccinated is like protecting other people or helping the community to stay healthy. But on the other hand, if you are already fully vaccinated you must still continue to follow the protocols just to be sure. Unfortunately, some eligible people doesn’t want to get vaccinated because they are afraid and they think that the vaccine which will inject to them are also virus, they do not trust the Government and they are believing on their stigmatism.
However, the Government will make a way to protect its people. So, vaccination will slowly become mandatory by requiring it when you enter to the malls, to travel and to get a job. We must voluntarily get the vaccine while it is FREE. We must take the opportunity to become protected. Let us help this country to become flourishing again. If you are one of a million people affected by this Pandemic, you must understand the significance of getting vaccinated. Just imagine the number of Deaths and Active cases of Covid-19, do not let yourself or one of your relatives or loved ones to become one of those victims.
Protect your family by protecting yourself. Bring back the liveliness of this country by being safe.
