COVID-19: PEOPLE'S LIVES MUST PRECEDENCE ABOVE BUSINESS.

Updated: Dec 8, 2021

World leaders were lining up nine months ago to declare any Covid-19 vaccination a global public good. Today, we are witnessing vaccine apartheid, which serves exclusively the interests of powerful and profitable pharmaceutical firms at the expense of everyone of us taking the shortest and least dangerous road out of this issue. This year, nine out of ten people in the world's poorest countries will be denied access to vaccines. Even this figure is in grave danger due to production delays. Unjustifiably high prices obstruct access and threaten to plunge more countries into an ever deepening debt crisis. If we stick to the current vaccine model, we will be unable to control the pandemic for many years.

The further the virus is allowed to persist in an environment where protection is inconsistent, the greater the risk of changes that render our vaccinations, as well as vaccines given to some people in wealthy countries, less effective or ineffective. To prepare the way for this, governments must urgent attention support a proposal submitted to the Office Of Fair trading to temporarily waive intellectual property rights for COVID 19 vaccines, forms of treatment, and test results until the world achieves critical herd immunity and the pandemic is already under control.

As a result of the pandemic, mostly every business on the planet had to suspend operations. It is in everyone's best interests for pharmaceutical companies to do the same. invite governments and business leaders to take part the growing call for a People's Vaccine and graph a new path together to ensure that enough vaccines, tests, and treatments are available for all people in all nations.
